Modo Boutique is a carefully curated consignment shop in Portland, Oregon. We specialize in selecting the best women’s designer clothing and accessories as well as an eclectic mix of local, independent and unique designers. We like to think of our store as one giant, international closet, filled with nothing but the cutest, most exciting pieces of clothing for you to discover.
We are continually inspired by the idea of rediscovering, recycling and reclaiming fashion. Giving things a new life in our store and your closet is a simple and effective practice in sustainability. We know there are plenty of people who care about the world as much as they care about their wardrobe, which is why resale is so important to us!

Can I try things on or pickup my purchases in person?
If you’d like to try on specific items, just call or email us ahead of time and we’ll let you know which location to find them at. Please note: Some of our eBay items are stored at a different location and are not always available to try on.
If you’ve purchased something online, you can either pay for it ahead of time using eBay’s checkout, or you can pay in person via cash or credit card. Just call or email us ahead of time letting us know which location & when you’ll be coming in so we can have it ready to pick up.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping costs are based on the weight of the item(s) and current USPS rates.
How quickly do you ship?
We are generally able to ship out your order within 1 business day. We ship via USPS and delivery times are based on the method of shipping you choose.
Where do you get your inventory?
All of our inventory comes from the closets of women just like you! We have approximately 1,000 active consignors at any given time, many have been selling their clothing with us for years.
Is every item authentic?
Yes. We do our best to verify the authenticity of each & every item that comes to our store. We do not accept fake or knock-off items, ever.
Is every item professionally cleaned?
We ask all of our consignors to professionally clean their items before bringing them in, but let’s be real, we cannot guarantee that they have been professionally dry-cleaned. We do make sure to carefully inspect each item and it’s condition, so that there are no surprises for you. If something does have a minor imperfection, we make sure to describe it!
What is your return/exchange policy?
Of course! We want to you to absolutely LOVE your purchase. If for any reason you do not, please let us know right away! We’re happy to issue a refund as long as the item is returned in its original condition and with tag(s) attached. We cannot accept returns of items that appear to have been worn, are damaged or otherwise do not arrive in the same condition in which they were purchased.
- ONLINE: You have 14 Days for online purchases via Ebay’s Buyer Protection Program. Simply email us and specify the reason for your return along with the eBay item number. You will receive an email with detailed instructions on how to return your item via eBay’s hassle free return program. Learn more about it here.
- IN STORE: You have 7 days to return for store credit. Please make sure all tags are still attached and you have the original receipt.

What do the different levels of ‘condition’ mean?
We carefully inspect each & every item that arrives at Modo Boutique and rate it’s condition as follows:
- NEW: Items in excellent condition with tags still attached.
- EXCELLENT: Items that arrive without tags, but do not appear to have ever been worn.
- VERY GOOD: Item that have been worn a time or two, often only once, and shows minimal signs of wear and only the smallest of imperfections. If you find a minor snag, stain or other blemish, it will be no larger than the tip of a pencil.
- GOOD: We do not actively seek items in good condition, but occasionally we receive something so special that we are willing to offer it for sale alongside an acknowledgement of a small stain or flaw. In these cases, we will clearly describe the item’s condition and accompanying flaws so there are no surprises for you.
How can I start consigning with Modo Boutique?
IT’S EASY! If you’re local to Portland, feel free to drop off your items at either of our two boutique, we are open everyday 11-6. Or email us to make an appointment.
If you would rather ship your items, please make a list of the items you would like to sell and email it to us along with your address. We will get back to you as soon as possible letting you know which items you should ship. We’ll also mail you shipping instructions along with a pre-paid label for your package and sturdy shipping bag to send your items in. There is absolutely no out-of-pocket cost for you!

What kinds of clothing does Modo Boutique accept?
We specialize in designer and couture clothing, shoes, purses, and jewelry such as: Alexander Wang, Anthropologie, Adriano Goldschmied, Alice + Olivia, Burberry, Chloe, Current/Elliott, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Frye, Gucci, Icebreaker, Inhabit, Jimmy Choo, Kate Spade, Lululemon, Louis Vuitton, Marni, Missoni, Pendleton, Prairie Underground, Prada, Rag + Bone, Theory, Tom Ford, Velvet, Vince, and so many more.
We also accept a limited number of mainstream brands such as: J. Crew, BCBG, etc.
We generally do not accept any items by the following designers: Forever 21, Banana Republic, Gap, Abercrombie, LOFT Ann Taylor, Jones New York, Polo, Coldwater Creek, Anne Klein, Liz Claiborne, Chico’s, etc.
How do you price apparel?
Our team of experienced buyers consider brand, overall condition, original price (if known) and online sales history of similar items.
How do I ship my items to Modo Boutique?
Its’ easy. We send you a pre-paid UPS shipping label along with a sturdy tyvek bag to mail your items in. Just email us a list of your items and your mailing address, we’ll get it right out to you.
Will you clean the clothes I send?
No. You are responsible for sending clothes that are clean, odor-free and undamaged. Items deemed unacceptable will be returned or donated to a charitable organization, depending on what you decide.
Do I need to promote the actual sale of my items?
Modo Boutique is committed to promoting every item we sell through photographing, merchandising and marketing via eBay, as well as through various social media channels. Any extra promotion you do to help promote your items and Modo Boutique is, of course, welcome and encouraged.
What happens if my items don’t sell?
You will be notified and will have the option to choose whether you’d like us to return your items or donate them to a charitable organization.

Why wasn’t my item(s) accepted by Modo Boutique?

If Modo Boutique can’t accept an item, can I get it back?
Of course. You’ll have the option to choose whether you’d like us to return unacceptable items or donate them to a charitable organization of our choice.
What if I change my mind? Can I get my item back?
Everyone has second thoughts from time to time. We ask that consignors allow Modo Boutique AT LEAST two full months before they are eligible for return. We’ve invested a significant amount of our time & energy to price, photograph, merchandise and market each item you consign with the goal of selling your clothing at a fair price while helping our community of shoppers score stylish, contemporary, covetable finds.
